Coffee recipes to impress

Drinking coffee tends to be very popular due to coffee shops being a staple in today’s life. You can hang out with friends, have a first date or even do your work as you drink your favorite coffee beverage in a cafe somewhere. But making these coffee drinks at home and with ingredients you already have, is much more economical and tastier as you get to control the measurements to make your perfect cup! Not to mention the comfort of being at home.

Here are 8 very simple coffee recipes you can easily make at home with a coffee maker, such as this one using minimal ingredients. There are both hot and cold options, so you can enjoy them in any season! You can impress your friends ( or that first date if they're brave enough to come to your house LOL ) by making some of these delicious recipes when they visit!

 

1. Classic Hot Coffee ( Hot ) ( you can see my other blog post on how to make the best cup of coffee at home by knowing which type of coffee beans to get! )

Ingredients:

  • Ground coffee
  • Water

Instructions:

  1. Add your ground coffee to the filter (about 1–2 tablespoons per cup).
  2. Fill the coffee maker’s water reservoir with the desired amount of water.
  3. Brew as usual and enjoy your hot, fresh coffee!

 

2. Iced Coffee ( Cold )

Ingredients:

  • Ground coffee
  • Water
  • Ice cubes
  • Optional: Milk or Cream, Sweetener

Instructions:

  1. Brew a strong cup of hot coffee (use extra coffee grounds for a more intense flavor).
  2. Let the coffee cool down to room temperature or chill it in the fridge.
  3. Fill a glass with ice cubes and pour the cooled coffee over the ice. 
  4. Top off with milk, cream, or sweetener if desired.

 

3. Vanilla Latte (Hot)

Ingredients:

  • Ground coffee
  • Water
  • Milk (or milk alternative)
  • Vanilla extract
  • Sugar (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Brew a cup of coffee using your coffee maker.
  2. In a separate container, heat the milk in the microwave or on the stove, then froth it using a milk frother or a whisk. ( Make sure you do this in a larger glass or cup at an angle so that the milk does not spill as the frother spins it )
  3. Stir a few drops of vanilla extract ( about 1/4 teaspoon) and sugar (if desired) into the brewed coffee.
  4. Pour the frothed milk over the coffee and enjoy!

 

4. Iced Coffee with Sweetened Condensed Milk ( Cold )

Ingredients:

  • Ground coffee
  • Water
  • Ice cubes
  • Sweetened condensed milk

Instructions:

  1. Brew your coffee as usual (strong coffee works best).
  2. Let it cool or chill it in the fridge.
  3. Fill a glass with ice cubes and pour the coffee over the ice.
  4. Add a large spoonful of sweetened condensed milk and stir. Adjust the amount for your desired sweetness.

 

5. Caramel Coffee (Hot or Iced)

Ingredients:

  • Ground coffee
  • Water
  • Caramel syrup
  • Milk or cream

Instructions:

  1. Brew a cup of hot coffee.
  2. Add 1-2 tablespoons of caramel syrup to your hot coffee, stirring well until it dissolves.
  3. Add milk or cream to taste.
  4. For iced, let the coffee cool and pour it over ice with caramel and milk. Stir well and enjoy!

 

6. Cinnamon Coffee (Hot)

Ingredients:

  • Ground coffee
  • Water
  • Ground cinnamon
  • Sugar or sweetener (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Add your coffee grounds and a pinch of ground cinnamon to the filter (about 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon per cup) Not too much or it will make the coffee bitter.
  2. Brew the coffee as usual.
  3. Add sugar or sweetener if desired and stir well before drinking.

 

7. Mocha Coffee (Hot)

Ingredients:

  • Ground coffee
  • Water
  • Cocoa powder
  • Sugar (optional)
  • Milk or cream

Instructions:

  1. Brew a cup of hot coffee.
  2. In a large cup, mix 1-2 tablespoons of cocoa powder with a teaspoon of sugar (if using).
  3. Stir in your brewed coffee slowly while stirring until the cocoa powder and sugar are dissolved.
  4. Add milk or cream for a smoother texture and enjoy!

 

8. Nutty Coffee (Hot or Iced)

Ingredients:

  • Ground coffee
  • Water
  • Hazelnut or almond extract
  • Milk or cream (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Brew a regular cup of coffee.
  2. Add a few drops (about 1/4 teaspoon) of hazelnut or almond extract to the hot coffee for a nutty flavor.
  3. If you want it creamy, add milk or cream.
  4. For iced coffee, let the brewed coffee cool, then pour over ice with milk and a little extra nutty extract if desired.

 

9. Iced Coconut Coffee ( Cold )

Ingredients:

  • Ground coffee
  • Water
  • Ice cubes
  • Coconut milk or coconut cream
  • Sweetener (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Brew a strong cup of coffee using your coffee maker.
  2. Let the coffee cool to room temperature or chill it in the fridge.

Ingredients:

  • Ground coffee
  • Water
  • Ice cubes
  • Vanilla ice cream
  • Optional: Chocolate syrup or caramel syrup

Instructions:

  1. Brew a regular or strong cup of coffee.
  2. Let it cool to room temperature or chill it in the fridge.
  3. Fill a glass with ice cubes.
  4. Pour the cooled coffee over the ice leaving room for the ice cream.
  5. Top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
  6. Drizzle chocolate or caramel syrup on top for extra flavor if desired.
  7. Stir occasionally as you enjoy the coffee float!
