Below is one of a handful of stories I had written for a series I made decades ago that I never published. I'm not an author or writer but was inspired at one time in my life to write these LOL! They are fun little stories, sometimes with a lesson at the end, sometimes with just a thought. :) This is BinBins and the Easter Bunny's story. Print it, share it and have fun doing the activity at the end!

BinBin and the Easter Bunny

( By Emelen De Jesus )

Notes: BinBin is a Bear. Pablo is a Beaver. They are animal friends that live in a forest town. They have many other friends and adventures that they share. This is one of them.

One day a long time ago, although the time wasn’t that different from ours, there was a bear names BinBin.

He was playing in front of his house when his friend Pablo the Beaver came by to let him know that tomorrow was Easter Day and the Easter Bunny would be coming by.

BinBin was very curious, and he didn’t believe that the Easter Bunny really existed, but Pablo kept telling him how wrong he was. After a while of talking Pablo went home excited for the next day.

BinBin went to bed that night thinking about all they talked about, and he fell asleep and began to dream…. and this is what happened…

BinBin was fishing in the pond by his house, when he saw some bushes near him moving and being curious, he decided to check and see what it was.

When he looked behind the bushes, he found a bunny that was acting very strangely. BinBin said “Hello, I’m BinBin. Are you all, right?”

“OH!” exclaimed the bunny very startled, “I thought that no one was around here!”

BinBin was confused, and thought, why would the bunny want to be alone? So, he asked. “Why do you want to hide from everyone?”

The bunny looked at him and said, “Well, you see” said the bunny, tomorrow is Easter Day, and I must fix all these baskets before the morning so that I can put them in everyone’s house, if I don’t finish them, Easter will be ruined.”

BinBin didn’t know what to think! First, he didn’t believe the Easter bunny was real, and now this was happening to him. He just couldn’t believe it! But, being the helpful bear he always was he asked “Would you like me to help you Mr. Bunny? I've never made an Easter basket before, but if you show me, I know I can do it!”

The Easter bunny was more than glad to have someone help him! It was so much work for such a little bunny to do in such a short time.

He showed BinBin how to make the Easter baskets. First filling them with grass and then adding in the colorful eggs and candies and finishing them off with a bow. They both worked extremely hard to finish them. When they were all done, the Easter bunny was incredibly happy and said “You have helped me save Easter! Thank you so much BinBin, I couldn’t have done it without you.”

BinBin was glad that he had done such a good deed. He said “You’re very welcome! I think I will go home now that we’re done. I’m a little tired and sleepy and need some rest” I’ll see you soon Mr. bunny!” He said as he waved good bye and walked off. Binbin picked up his fishing pole by the river and headed back home to go to bed. Just as BinBin was leaving, he heard Mr. Bunny say in the distance, “and because you were such a great helper, you will find something special in your basket tomorrow!”

BinBin smiled, waved and went home to sleep. When BinBin woke up in the morning, he realized it was Easter Day and that he had been dreaming!

Wow, how real that dream had felt, he thought.

He got up and stretched and went to the pond to wash up. When he got back home, Pablo was there excitedly waiting to show him his Easter basket full of candies and eggs. He said. “Hey BinBin! Look at my basket!” and asked curiously “Where is your basket BinBin?”

BinBin replied a bit regretful, “hmmm. I didn’t get one because I didn’t believe in the Easter Bunny when you told me about him.”  “Oh, I’m sorry,” said Pablo. He thought for a moment and said, “Let’s go inside, we can share and I can give you some of my candy and eggs!”

They went inside and to BinBin and Pablos surprise, there was a basket there waiting for BinBin full of candy and eggs and a BIG pot of honey!

It had a little note that said: “Have a Happy Easter! And I will see you soon my friend.” Signed: The Easter Bunny.

BinBin and Pablo read the note and then BinBin told Pablo all about his dream the night before….. or..... had it been a dream?
