Savory Sandwich Maker Recipes for Quick Delicious Breakfast, Lunch and Dinners! ( with ingredients you actually have at home )

We’re a busy bunch of people. There’s always something to do. From taking kids to school before going to work, to GOING to work, to walking the dog, to picking up the kids from school and walking the dog again and then, it's time to do it all over again! LOL  

Some days are more chaotic than others and for those days, we really don’t want to spend too much time figuring out what to make for breakfast, lunch OR dinner!

With that in mind, here are some quick, easy, and delicious recipes you can make at home with a Sandwich Maker (such as this one) for breakfast, lunch, or dinner!

1. Classic Ham & Cheese Sandwich (Can’t go wrong with a classic! – unless of course you’re three, and hate triangles!)

Ingredients:

  • 2 slices of bread (white, whole wheat, or any of your choice)
  • 2 slices of ham
  • 2 slices of cheese (Swiss, cheddar, or your preference)
  • Butter (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your sandwich maker.
  2. Butter one side of each slice of bread (optional for extra crispiness).
  3. Layer the ham and cheese between the slices of bread, with the buttered sides on the outside.
  4. Place the sandwich into the sandwich maker and cook until golden and crispy (about 3-5 minutes).
  5. Serve hot and enjoy!

For a little sweetness you can add a bit of jam before you heat up the sandwich. YUM!


2. Vegetarian Veggie Delight 

Ingredients:

  • 2 slices of bread
  • 2 tbsp hummus or cream cheese
  • 1 small tomato, sliced
  • 1/4 cucumber, sliced thinly
  • A handful of spinach or mixed greens
  • 2-3 slices of avocado
  • Salt & pepper (to taste)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the sandwich maker.
  2. Spread hummus or cream cheese on one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Layer the sliced tomato, cucumber, spinach, and avocado on one slice of bread. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Top with the second slice of bread, spread side facing inwards.
  5. Place it in the sandwich maker and cook until golden (about 3-5 minutes).
  6. Serve and enjoy your fresh, healthy veggie sandwich!

3. Egg & Bacon Breakfast Sandwich ( another classic! )

Ingredients:

  • 2 slices of bread (or a bagel, English muffin)
  • 1 egg
  • 2 slices of cooked bacon
  • 1 slice of cheese (optional)
  • Salt & pepper (to taste)
  • Butter (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the sandwich maker.
  2. If using bread, butter the outer sides of the slices (optional).
  3. Crack an egg into the sandwich maker and cook until it reaches your desired level of done-ness (you may need to scramble it for a more even cook). Place the cooked egg on the bread.
  4. Place a slice of cheese on top of the cooked egg (optional).
  5. Layer the cooked bacon on the egg and top with the second slice of bread.
  6. Close the sandwich maker and cook until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy your breakfast!

Serve with ketchup as a dipping option or syrup!


4. Grilled Cheese with Tomato Soup Dip

Ingredients:

  • 2 slices of bread
  • 2 slices of cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • Butter (optional)
  • Tomato soup (for dipping)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the sandwich maker.
  2. Butter the outside of the bread slices.
  3. Place cheese between the slices of bread, with the buttered sides facing out.
  4. Place the sandwich in the sandwich maker and cook for 3-5 minutes, until the bread is golden and the cheese is melted.

5. Chicken Caesar Wrap Sandwich

Ingredients:

  • 2 slices of bread or a large tortilla (wrap-style)
  • Grilled chicken breast (shredded or sliced)
  • Romaine lettuce
  • Caesar dressing
  • Shredded Parmesan cheese

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the sandwich maker.
  2. Layer the grilled chicken, lettuce, Caesar dressing, and Parmesan on the bread or tortilla.
  3. If using bread, top with another slice of bread and press into the sandwich maker. If you use a tortilla, fold it up into a wrap.
  4. Cook for 3-5 minutes until crispy and warm.
  5. Serve hot for a tasty and filling meal!

6. Turkey & Cranberry Sandwich (Great for Thanksgiving Leftovers)

Ingredients:

  • 2 slices of bread
  • 2 slices of turkey
  • 2 slices of cheese (cheddar or Swiss)
  • 1-2 tbsp cranberry sauce
  • A few leaves of spinach or lettuce

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the sandwich maker.
  2. Layer turkey, cheese, cranberry sauce, and spinach between the slices of bread.
  3. Butter the outside of the bread (optional).
  4. Place in the sandwich maker and cook until crispy and golden, about 3-5 minutes.
  5. Serve and enjoy the sweet and savory combo!

7. Caprese Sandwich

Ingredients:

  • 2 slices of bread (sourdough or your favorite)
  • 2 slices fresh mozzarella
  • 2-3 slices tomato
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Balsamic glaze (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the sandwich maker.
  2. Layer the mozzarella, tomato, and basil leaves on one slice of bread.
  3. Drizzle a little balsamic glaze on top (optional).
  4. Place the other slice of bread on top and butter the outside (optional).
  5. Cook in the sandwich maker for 3-5 minutes until crispy.
  6. Serve and enjoy your fresh and delicious Caprese sandwich!

8. Pizza Pocket Sandwich ( Kids Favorite! )

Ingredients:

  • 2 slices of bread (or pizza dough)
  • 2 tbsp pizza sauce
  • 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1-2 slices pepperoni or your favorite toppings (like mushrooms or olives)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the sandwich maker.
  2. Spread pizza sauce on one slice of bread, then top with cheese and pepperoni or other toppings.
  3. Place the second slice of bread on top.
  4. Cook in the sandwich maker for 3-5 minutes until crispy and the cheese is melted.
  5. Enjoy your homemade pizza pocket!
